How to Change an AR15 Bolt Catch

Replacing a bolt catch is easier than you might think, it really only takes a few simple steps.

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is get your AR15 bolt catch out of the rifle. Using a small tap, tap the rolling pin out of place (make sure the bolt catch isn’t actively in use while doing this). Use a little painters tape to avoid scratching the gun if necessary.

Step 2: Now that we’ve taken our AR15 Bolt Catch out, let’s go ahead and install a new one! To do this, insert a new AR-style Bolt Catch into its housing in front of the trigger assembly. Now, you’ll want to line up the AR15 Bolt Catch with its hole and push it back into place

After that, you’re done! It’s really that simple.

Notes:

-Remember, when in doubt, consult your owners manual for more detailed instructions on what and how to do this!

-Bolt Catch should be seated securely before continuing assembly of firearm

How to Use a Bore Snake: A Comprehensive Guide For Cleaning Your Rifle

A bore snake is an invaluable tool for cleaning your rifle. The bore snake can be used to clean out the barrel of a gun, loosen and remove rust or powder residue from the muzzle, and dry out any wet patches in the bore. This article will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to use a bore snake so that you can keep your firearm functioning properly!

– Step One: Choose the Right Bore Snake – Most bore snakes come in a variety of sizes and lengths. It is important that you choose the right bore snake for your particular firearm. For example, if you have an AR-15 barrel, it requires a .223/556 caliber bore snake to fit properly.

– Step Two: Lubricate the Bore Snake – It is very important to lubricate your bore snake before using it. This will help you avoid scratches on any metal surfaces and keep dirt from building up in the barrel, which could lead to jams or clogs when shooting.

– Step Three: Thread One End of the Bore Snake into the Barrel

– Step Four: Run Bore Snake Through Chamber and Out Other End – Once threaded in, use your fingers on the other side of the bore snake to find and clean any dirt or debris that has accumulated in there.

– Step Five: Thread Second End of Bore Snake into Chamber – Use your fingers at the other end of the bore snake to push it through, cleaning out all clogs along the way. This is an important step because a lot can accumulate in the chamber, and it’s important to get all of this out before shooting.

– Step Six: Pull Second End Back Out – This should be fairly easy because you just cleaned out any clogs or debris in the bore. If not, then run another section through until everything is clear.

– Step Seven: Clean and rewind bore snake for next time!
